เมื่อวันที่ 4 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาวณัฐนิภา บุรุษพัฒน์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครแวนคูเวอร์ ได้พบหารือกับนาย David Enriquez, Vice President, External Relations and International Affairs และนางสาว Fiona Langdon, Senior Advisor, International Relations ผู้แทนจากองค์กร Mitacs ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรด้านนวัตกรรมชั้นนำของแคนาดา เพื่อติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินการตามบันทึกความเข้าใจระหว่าง Mitacs กับที่ประชุมอธิการบดีแห่งประเทศไทย ซึ่งในปีนี้มีนักศึกษาไทยจำนวน 8 คนเข้าร่วมโครงการ Globalink Research Internship ที่สถาบันในแคนาดา และมีนักศึกษา และนักวิจัยไทยจำนวนหนึ่งที่ได้รับ Globalink Research Award

นอกจากนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้หารือแนวทางส่งเสริมความร่วมมือกับ Mitacs ด้านนวัตกรรม งานวิจัยร่วม และการต่อยอดนวัตกรรมไปสู่การทำธุรกิจเชิงพาณิชย์กับภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนของประเทศไทยในสาขาต่าง ๆ อาทิ AI Quantum และ Advanced Manufacturing

Consul General of Thailand in Vancouver Meets with Mitacs to Strengthen Thailand–Canada Cooperation in Research and Innovation

On 4 August 2026, Ms. Nattanipa Burusapat, Consul General of Thailand in Vancouver, met with representatives from Mitacs, a leading Canadian innovation organization, including Mr. David Enriquez, Vice President, External Relations and International Affairs, and Ms. Fiona Langdon, Senior Advisor, International Relations, in Vancouver. The meeting focused on following up on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Mitacs and the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT). Under this collaboration, eight Thai students participated in the Globalink Research Internship program at Canadian institutions this year, while a number of Thai students and researchers received the Globalink Research Award.

In addition, the Consul General discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation with Mitacs in innovation, joint research initiatives, and the translation of research outcomes into commercial applications with Thai government agencies and private sector partners in various fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Technologies, and Advanced Manufacturing.
